Judith Ann VanVacter-Gadd, 72, passed away Monday October 10, 2016. She was born February 4, 1944 in Deerfield, Kansas. The daughter of Joe and Sybil Anderson.



Judy started her life in Deerfield, Kansas. The family spent a short time in Colorado and moved back to Deerfield Kansas, then moved to Cainsville, Missouri where she lettered in basketball, graduated high school met and married Jerry Gene VanVacter on May 12 1962. Judith Ann VanVacter-Gadd, 72, passed away Monday October 10, 2016. She was born February 4, 1944 in Deerfield, Kansas. The daughter of Joe and Sybil Anderson.



Judy started her life in Deerfield, Kansas. The family spent a short time in Colorado and moved back to Deerfield Kansas, then moved to Cainsville, Missouri where she lettered in basketball, graduated high school met and married Jerry Gene VanVacter on May 12 1962. In 1964, they bought and moved into the house that she lived in until her death. She was a hard working mother, who was actively involved in scouts with three sons that are eagle scouts. She was a proud member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. Judy retired from K-Mart Corporation. She worked at the Union Pacific Rail Road and was manager of the North Kansas City Pizza Hut, a waitress at Holiday Inn, American Inn and Shoney's, where she met and married Chuck Gadd in Branson, Missouri on November 15, 2001. Judy retired from working in 2006. She enjoyed traveling with her family to Shawnee Oklahoma every year for the Citizen Potawatomi family reunion. Judy also made it to Branson, Missouri, Hawaii, the Bahamas, Nashville, TN and the Sequoia National Park in California.



Judy is survived by her husband, Charles Gadd; three sons, Jerry and wife, Kellie VanVacter, Tracy and wife, Rhonda VanVacter, Christopher VanVacter, brother, James and Janet Anderson of Long Island New York; and three step sisters, Frances Skipton, Stella McGinn and Mary Sue Smith. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and her three dogs, Midnight, Cinnamon and Furbie. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry VanVacter, who passed away in March 1987. Judy was also preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Ruth Anderson; two brothers, Charles and Frank Anderson, a sisters, Laura Slattery and Mary Skipton; two step brothers, Warren and Gene Rigdon; and two step sisters, Reva Welch and Georgia Carter.



Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at White Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday, October 14, 2016, at the funeral home.
